The above house located in Johannesburg has been built as a RDP house. The dwelling is wired to operate with off-grid power only.
The house has a solar powered geyser, off-grid backup power and LED lighting. Trenergy (Pty) Ltd supplied the solar powered geyser for this project. The house has two plug points.
The project has progressed well and the consortium responsible for the project are in discussions on a rollout of the concept in various provinces in South Africa
